Tiderip Gallery is delighted to announce the representation of Alexandra Baraitser.

Drawing on twentieth-century modernist design, the Bauhaus and the visual language of 1950s interiors, her paintings explore the space between figuration and abstraction. Alexandra Baraitser’s work is a celebration of contemporary design and architecture and is based on images she selects from interior design publications, magazines and newspapers.

She was an Abbey Scholar at the British School at Rome from 1996–97. Her work has been exhibited at the Barbican, London; Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge; the Royal Academy of Arts, London; and Design Tasmania, Launceston, amongst many others. Her work is held in private and public collections including the Clare Hall Art Collection, University of Cambridge; Design Tasmania; J Sainsbury PLC; and BP Amoco. In 2025, she was highly commended for a Woman’s Art Award and won second prize in the People’s Choice Award at the Young Masters Art Prize.

This October, Tiderip will present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Alexandra Baraitser, her first solo exhibition with a commercial gallery since 2007. The exhibition will inaugurate Tiderip’s new space in Fitzrovia, London.
